About Peace ‘n’ Choir
An a cappella choir originating for the enjoyment of the Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious communities located 35 minutes from the CBD of Brisbane. Over the 15 years of music making the choir has grown to include members from the surrounding areas including the Samford valley and Brisbane suburbs.

We are a community choir that welcomes everyone. As such there is no audition as we adhere to the principle that everyone has a voice that can contribute to the whole in a positive way.

Our repertoire is drawn from diverse vocal and cultural traditions as well as contemporary music.

We regularly perform at local community events at Mt Nebo and can frequently be heard at events and festivals throughout South East Queensland.

The core of our musical themes is a love and respect for the natural environment and a celebration of the human spirit.

We are a diverse group of people with a wide range of interests and lifestyles. Our common thread is the camaraderie of the group and our musical director Ann Bermingham who unifies us in creative direction that is thoughtful and respected by the wider musical community.

Neurum Creek Music Festival was by far, one of Peace’n'Choir’s best performances. The festival site was woken by a booming rendition “Ja Helo” drawing folk out of their tents to join us for the remainder of our set. A sweet interlude was provided by Men-a-sing, an all male ensemble composed of members of the choir ably lead by Ross Carew. We finished with a heartfelt, energy filled piece ‘Salam’ written by the well known band Sheva.

For many of us, it was our first visit to this particular festival. We were all very impressed with the location, the friendly community of music makers and festival goers and the relaxed, low key vibe. We look forward to doing all again next year!

September is a busy month for Peace ‘n’ Choir with two performances both of which are on the mountain as part of community based events.

Sept 5 – Mountain Festival, Mt Nebo State School

Our local primary school is a buzz working hard to gift the mountain and surrounding areas a full day of fun, food, music and activities. It’s Fathers Day, so why not plan a lovely day out in the rainforest keeping an ear out for Peace ‘n’ Choir’s tuneful harmonies.

Sept 25 – Mountain Idol

Community Hall, Mt Nebo Road, Mt Nebo

Yes our very own Idol competition, fun for the whole family. This has become an annual event and a firm favourite with the mountain community. An opportunity to reveal the many talents of the locals at the same time raising funds for the Residents Association in charge of maintaining our community hall.

Peace ‘n’ Choir will perform as part of the early evening programme, not to be missed!

Food and drink, fun and entertainment for all. Tickets at the door.
